As you are probably aware, prolonged stress is a silent killer. Too many stress hormones secreted in excess, day-after-day, and especially at the wrong times of the day can be devastating to the:
immune,
digestive,
elimination, and
nervous systems.
Heart disease and cancer are not far behind. You might be thinking to yourself, "I didn't realize it was that big of a problem?" Yes, it is a huge problem with devastating results. You absolutely must jettison the stress in your life, especially chronic stress.
What is chronic stress anyway?
It is prolonged stress that can last from days to weeks to months that can be triggered by a divorce, a death in the family, an illness, the loss of a job, or in a bad situation at work. These are just some of the major triggers.
Stress and Adrenal Hormones: If you continually feel tense or anxious, your body remains in a constant state of heightened arousal. Day-after-day, your adrenal glands produce too many stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol, which leads to eventual burnout of the glands.
At some point, your adrenal glands can no longer keep up with the constant stimulation and huge demands for adrenaline and cortisol. The end result is that they shut down, which is not good.
Stress and Chronic Disease: Stress levels in the body are one of the leading causes of the body becoming acidic, which means stress can be one of the leading causes of chronic disease because bacteria, viruses, and cancers thrive in an acidic environment.
Stress and Fat Loss: Stress wreaks so much havoc on the digestion and hormonal systems that it can undermine gains in health made from the natural, whole foods way of eating and from the correct exercise program.
Therefore, to achieve true hormonal harmony and set the stage for lasting fat loss, you absolutely must bring your stress hormones under control and reduce the stress in your life. The high levels of cortisol associated with excessive stress interfere with almost every other hormone involved in:
metabolism regulation,
appetite control, and
fat burning.
Stress and Imbalance: If the stress response lingers, you can become imbalanced over time, which may lead to:
muscle wasting,
premature aging,
fat gain, and
disease.
Stress and Genetic Makeup: Mental and emotional stress affects every cell in the body. The mind can turn the body's pH from alkaline to acidic in a matter of minutes. Stress can adversely affect your genetic makeup and the mind can positively or negatively affect your DNA.
In addition, what you say and how you think can absolutely give you disease and it can absolutely cure you of disease. If you want to:
prevent disease,
be healthy and happy,
eliminate fatigue, and
jettison depression,
you must reduce the prolonged stress that is in your body.
